On august, 8th 2010 the College of Piping rolls out the carpet for the actors of the movie 'Follow Me I'm Right Behind You' in the Glasgow Film Theatre. Content of the film is the exciting way of bagpipe students from around the world to the World Bagpipe Championships in Scotland, simply called 'the worlds' (link). The World Bagpipe Championships are one of the most exiting championshipsaround the world and attract over 8000 Bagpipe and Drum Warriors and over 40,000 spectators each year.

  Proudly there are five actors from our band playing in this film: Irene Kuhn-Schultz, Matthias Kühn, Martin Iseli, Kuno Zimmermann and Andrea Zingg.

Also this year, the Pipes and Drums of the Lucerne Caledonians take part to the Swiss Highland Games in St. Ursen (Switzerland), where the band tries to defense the fourth rank from the last year in Band Competition.

The organizers already announced a new record attendance in Band Competitions, while the Solo Piping cathegories will be divided into four categories of skills a first time this year: Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced and Former Winners. New the pipers will have the possability to perform two tunes in a cathegory. Winner of a cathegory will have to take part in the next higher level in the following year. The former winners cathegory is the highest level and stands open for pipers who already won a National or International title. The Snare and Tenor Drum  cathegories are organized without changes.

The Pipes and Drums of the Lucerne Caledonians tries to send participations in all categories, so the band thanks in advance for your great support!

For its 10th year anniversary in 2010, The Culture and Convention Centre Lucerne (KKL) advertised the  competition «Mein Konzertsaal» in December 2009, issued by the jury led by George Gruntz. Thanks to its cultural presence, its high musical performance and its wealth of ideas the band 'the Pipes and Drums of the Lucerne Caledonians' has been voted one of the winners of the competition. For this honor the band thanked on 10th of june this year with a new formation-rehearsed presentation on stage of the KKL. The Band specially thanks the organizers, members of the jury and specifically the two moderators Soner Avri and Susanne Callgaris-Kuchler, who presented our gig with dignity, know-how, personality and love.
